How to Handle Farm Manure and Wastewater

The rotary drum microfilter for pig manure is a core pre-treatment and solid liquid separation environmental device for large-scale pig farms. It is designed for pig manure’s high moisture and high organic content, delivering efficient separation of solids and wastewater and laying the foundation for subsequent resource recovery (composting, biogas fermentation, or compliant discharge).

Core Working Principle
Infeed: Manure wastewater is pumped into the drum. The drum rotates slowly driven by a motor.
Microfiltration separation: A precision filter mesh (customizable pore size) covers the drum exterior. Under gravity and drum rotation, water passes through the mesh while solid manure is retained inside the drum.
Discharge and self-cleaning: Retained solids are transported by the rotating drum to the discharge end and expelled; the mesh is automatically rinsed by an internal spray system to prevent clogging and ensure continuous stable operation.
Key Advantages
High-efficiency separation: Solid–liquid separation rates exceed 90%, greatly reducing downstream wastewater treatment load and lowering investment and operating costs for sedimentation tanks, anaerobic digesters, etc.
Corrosion-resistant and durable: Constructed mainly of stainless steel to resist manure corrosion, extend service life, and simplify cleaning and maintenance while meeting biosecurity and hygiene requirements.
Continuous operation: Capable of 24/7 continuous operation with a high degree of automation and minimal supervision—suitable for large farms with continuous discharge.
Resource recovery: Separated solids have low moisture content (can be reduced below 60%), suitable for direct composting into organic fertilizer; the filtrate can enter anaerobic systems for biogas production, turning waste into value.
Environmental compliance: Effectively removes suspended solids and organics, providing front-end assurance for compliant discharge or reuse (e.g., irrigation) and helping farms pass environmental inspections.
Applicable Scenarios
Pre-treatment of manure for large-scale pig farms and breeding farms
Solid–liquid separation of pig manure and wash wastewater
Manure resource-utilization projects (organic fertilizer production, biogas projects)
Integrated manure-treatment lines linked with biogas digesters, sedimentation tanks, and biological treatment units
For farm manure management, rotary drum microfilters offer an efficient, reliable solution to separate solids, reduce downstream load, and enable practical resource recovery.
