Materials For Weaner Pig Pens

Weaner pigs,  is a feeding stage in self breeding farms, usually referring to piglets aged 22 to 77 days. Pigs at this stage have fast growth and development, high susceptibility to temperature and diseases, and require very careful feeding.

Provide a comfortable environment for piglets, creates a better local environment, and improves the survival rate of piglets. Adding this phase and dividing swine growth into two stages can better match more suitable slat floors, fence, feeding troughs, and temperature control systems.

The weaner pig house can be built with smaller units and equipped with heating devices separately, providing a suitable growth environment for piglets and improving their growth rate and survival rate.

The fences are generally 700 to 750mm high and made of materials such as all metal fences, metal columns+PVC hollow boards (or PP boards, PVC solid boards, etc.), or a combination of metal fences+PVC board fences. The main targets are insulation and ventilation effects. It has been proven that weaner pigs like hot and fattening pig like cold. Therefore, considering the insulation effect, it is recommended to use a full PVC fence, don’t need to consider metal fence for ventilation.

1. All metal fence – rod steel of  vertical bars:

The overall hot-dip galvanizing process, with a column height of 700mm,

uses 3/4 inch pipe or 30*30 square pipes for the outer frame,

and uses 9mm round steel rod for the vertical bars, and the bottom round or square pipe is 50mm above the ground;

30 square pipes are used as columns for connecting the railings;

Use bolts and nuts for on-site connection without creating new welds.

Metal fences are sturdy, durable, and have a long service life.

 

2. Metal fence – round steel rod horizontal bars:

Whole hot-dip galvanizing process, height 700mm,

the top is angle steel or 3/4 inch steel pipe, or 30 square pipe, the bottom is 3/4 inch pipe, or 18 round steel rod,

the horizon bars are 9mm steel rod bars.

The columns are 30mm square pipe.

Use bolts and nuts for on-site installation, no more weld.

Metal fences are sturdy, durable, and have a long service life.

3.Hot dip galvanized column+500 * 35mm PVC hollow board+2 horizontal bars:

The column height is 700mm, and the column is hot-dip galvanized process.

The top is 35mm hot-dip galvanized square tube or 1-inch hot-dip galvanized round tube.

Now, in order to reduce costs, some also use 3/4 inch tubes as horizontal bars;

500 * 35mm PVC hollow board+two horizontal pipes+hot-dip column.

Use bolts and nuts for on-site installation, no more weld, balancing insulation and ventilation.

If use a 500 * 35mm high hollow board as a fence, make sure to use 2 pipes at the top, otherwise the PVC hollow board will be easily bitten and damaged by the pigs when they grow up.

4. Hot dip galvanized steel column+600 * 35mm PVC hollow board+1 horizontal bar:

The column height is 700mm, and the column is hot-dip galvanized process.

The top uses 35 hot-dip galvanized square tube or 1-inch hot-dip galvanized round tube.

Now, in order to reduce costs, some also use 3/4 inch tubes as horizontal bars;

600 * 35mm PVC hollow board+two horizontal pipes+hot-dip galvanized column,

Use bolts and nuts for on-site installation, no more weld, balancing insulation and ventilation.

5. Hot dip galvanized column+700mm PVC hollow board:

Column height 700mm, hot-dip galvanizing process,

700 * 35mm PVC hollow board+hot-dip galvanized column,

Use bolts and nuts for on-site installation, no more weld, good insulation effect.

6. Hot dip galvanized column+750mm PVC hollow board:

Column height 750mm, hot-dip galvanizing process,

750 * 35mm PVC hollow board+hot-dip galvanized column,

Use bolts and nuts for on-site installation, no more weld, good insulation effect.

This type is sturdy and relatively expensive.

7. Hot dip galvanized square tube column+10mm thick PVC solid board:

The column height is 700mm or customized according to client’s requirement.

30mm square tubes are used for the column,

use bolts and nuts for on-site installation, no more weld, and with good insulation effect.

However, due to the high density and weight of PVC solid boards, they may deform after long time use.

If considering service life, it is recommended to use hot-dip galvanized metal fence; If considering insulation or epidemic prevention effects, PVC board fences are more recommended.
